Description (Abstract)
Inclusion classrooms are designed to support all learners by creating flexible, welcoming environments where every student can succeed. The Inclusive Classroom model is built on three main components: Universal Design for Learning (UDL), Differentiated Instruction, and Collaborative Teaching. Universal Design for Learning focuses on planning lessons that offer multiple ways for students to learn, show understanding, and stay engaged. This helps meet the needs of students with different learning styles, including students with special needs and English Language Learners. Differentiated Instruction allows teachers to adjust content, process, and assessment based on students’ readiness levels, interests, and abilities. Collaborative Teaching involves general and special education teachers working together to plan, teach, and support students in the same classroom. By combining these three practices, inclusion classrooms create equal learning opportunities, improve academic outcomes, and build a positive community where all students feel valued, supported, and capable of success.
