Description (Abstract)

My proposal is to share research from my Spring 2026 ART 4610 Internship II at the 2026 Molloy MURC Conference. The internship includes working on Dr. Caruso’s summer exhibition in Kellenberg Gallery, entitled Joys of Summer. Kellenberg Gallery is my learning lab and research site, hands-on curatorial experience. This experience helps develop curatorial writing and research skills to support my future career.

My project focuses on art object based research. The summer exhibition includes multiple artworks and artists, and I will examine ten artworks. I will investigate each artist’s biography, artistic expression, materials, mediums, techniques, and conceptual ideas. I will produce curatorial texts including wall labels and interpretive descriptions. This research will deepen my understanding of each artwork’s meanings, materials and artistic intent.

The results of my fine art object-based research will be shared in a poster board at the MURC Conference display findings, curatorial analyses, and insights gained from this hands on gallery experience.
