Description
This is an African medicine man trade bead. Trade beads such as this originated in Venetian provenance and were transported by merchants and explorers for trade in Africa during the 18-20th century. It is thought that this type of bead must have had some sort of healing or protective quality to it, gaining the title of medicine man beads.
