Description (Abstract)

[This was withdrawn post-conference at the request of the faculty committee due to Genesis not appearing on the day of the conference.]

This presentation investigates the impact of yoga practice on the physical and mental well-being of adult populations, with a focus on its efficacy in managing anxiety, depression, and PTSD. By reviewing existing research, this presentation aims to show the potential benefits of yoga as a holistic approach to health promotion and disease prevention. Drawing upon a diverse range of literature sources, including randomized controlled trials, cohort studies, and systematic reviews, this review shows a comprehensive analytic strategy to evaluate the effects of yoga on various dimensions of well-being. The main findings indicate that regular yoga practice is associated with improvements in both physical and mental health outcomes, including reduced stress levels, enhanced mood, and increased resilience to psychological distress. However, limitations are also acknowledged, including methodological inconsistencies, potential bias in study designs, and variations in yoga interventions and outcome measures. Despite these limitations, the findings underscore the significance of incorporating yoga into comprehensive health interventions for adult populations.
