Short Biography

Professor Victoria Siegel has been teaching at Molloy since 2011. She has conducted numerous studies on skin cancer prevention. This study of gun violence prevention is a study conducted with colleagues in the nursing department. They are listed as co-presenters and they teach the community health nursing course in which the study took place. The manuscript has been accepted for publication with the Medsurg Nursing journal and will come out in print in the next few weeks.

Description (Abstract)

This study consisted of educating senior community health nursing students about gun violence, aiming to empower them to teach patients and families about gun safety measures. If nurses are taught about gun violence prevention in nursing school, they can then educate patients and their families.
