This is a Red Cross volunteer uniform that maybe have been inspired by the Red-Cross-Civilian Defense Nurse's Aides Corps uniform. The apron/skirt is made from a light blue cotton fabric was produced by the company Hoover, based out of New York. The patch on the left sleeve reads "American Red Cross Volunteer," it is pined in place (if this were a Red-Cross-Civilian Defense Nurse's Aides Corps uniform this patch is incorrect and a Red-Cross-Civilian Defense Nurse's Aides patch should be there instead). The shirt is made from a white fabric and was produced by Marlou School Uniforms Company and likely does not come from the same era as the apron/skirt. The cap matches the apron/skit and has a Red Cross patch sewn to the front. Shirt, patch, and apron/skirt might have been combined at a later date.
