Abstract

Imagine an inner-city, community school district with over 10,000 limited English proficient (LEP) students and the largest number of new immigrant students in the entire City of New York. In this multiethnic, multicultural district, more than 22 languages and dialects are spoken. But when it comes to educating our students, we all speak the same language - we strive to provide a quality education with the new standards in mind.
